Abstract
This study entitled “Identity Crisis in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Play”, was aimed at analyzing identity crisis in the play and the factors of it. The approach of this study was qualitative. In identifying identity crisis and its factors, the theory of Erikson (1968) was used. From the data analysis, it was found that Albus Potter as the main character suffered from role confusion; he experienced the role confusion between the positive and negative role identity. He seeks for attention by being a troublemaker. Finally he found his true identity after taking some lessons from his mistakes. Keywords: Adolescence, Identity Crisis, Identity Achievement, Negative Role Identity
