Abstract

The thesis entitled Teaching vocabulary using games through communicative language teaching at the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Pasar Baru 5 Tangerang. The study was purposed to know the students vocabulary achievement using games. The object of this research is the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Pasar Baru 5 Tangerang. This research used qualitative approach by doing observation, interviewing teacher and giving test to the students. The result of the study showed that learning using games through communicative language teaching is been from the students score which most of them have a good score, the result of observation it showed that the 80% the students got score very good (A) and 20% the students got the score good (B). From the score above, the average 92.7. Students enjoyed learning English using games. They felt more comfortable, confident and easy to memorize the vocabulary.
