Abstract

This study discusses the process of teaching vocabulary using Total Physical Response. The purpose of this study is to find out the activities and materials used in teaching vocabularies using total physical response (TPR) on kinesthetic learners, and to analyze the results of teaching vocabulary using total physical response (TPR) on kinesthetic learners in the third grade of Sekolah Alam Kebun Tumbuh. To obtain the accurate data, this study uses qualitative approach; it means that the information was taken from the observation, interview, and questionair. The theory used in conducting this study is the theory of Richard and Rodgers to analyze total physical response. The material given by teacher is diverse and interesting. The activities given to students use practice and imitate movement. The result of students’ score were very satisfying. Therefore, it can be concluded that teaching vocabulary through movement and mime using total physical response (TPR) on kinesthetic learners was good.
