Abstract
In our daily of lives there are many phenomena in languages occurs in conversation. Therefore, this study aims to deepen the understanding in the pragmatic field by analyzing the types and reasons of maxim violation uttered by the speaker while having a conversation with the addressee. The data were collected from "Superstore" TV series script using qualitative approach which are explained in essay. The data were analyzed using Gricean maxim theory. The analysis shows maxim violation of relevance as the dominant violation found in the dialogue, and the most reason used by speaker is that the speaker obviously violates the maxim because of several reasons, such as wanting to change the topic, lacks of information, or making the conversation wordy.
