Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain the semiotic that relates to the symbols and the icons which were found in women's perfume advertisement on the Sephora website. This study focuses on the pictures of each perfume such as the form of the bottle or self-portrait as a representation of the symbols or icons are intended in the woman’s perfume advertisements. In analyzing, the writer uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explain the implied meaning in the perfume based on Peirce’s theory. Therefore, the writer took the data from Sephora website which consists of 30 data which is the result showed that 17 data perfumes on the advertisements showed Symbol, and 11 advertisements data showed the icon, 2 data showed the symbol and icon.
