Abstract

This study aims at investigating politeness aspects in the Blind Side Movie by John Lee Hancock. The objectives of the study are to identity the politeness strategies and to analyze the meaning of politeness strategies used in the dialogue on The Blind Side Movie. By knowing the politeness strategies then Impoliteness in communication can be reduced. The qualitative approach and Levinson are used to analyze the data. Based on the data finding the result shows that there are kinds of politeness that consist of 50 data in the movie script,- 22 data on record politeness, 20 data on positive politeness, 5 data on negative politeness and 3 data on off record politeness. Each of these has its place in the politeness the most frequently used is on record application in communication. Key Words: Pragmatic, Politeness, Dialogue, The Blind Side, qualitative
