Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze gender trouble of the main character; Alice in “Alice in Wonderland (2010)” movie script written by Linda Woolverton. This study basically answers two basic questions; how the main character resists the gender trouble and what are the factors causes of the main character’s resist. In this study, the writer used the theory of feminism; Gender Trouble from Butler (1990). This study applied qualitative research method that presents the data in the essay form. The first result of this study shows that Alice as the main character reflects the masculine characteristics. The second result proves the factors which cause the main character’s resist comes from gender and cultural factors that have the big roles of constructing personal identity at that time.
