Abstract

This study is aimed to describe semiotics studies about signs and meanings of semiotics expressions in which the writer only focuses on the study of connotation, denotation, and myth in WALL-E animated movie produced by Disney PIXAR. In this study the writer used descriptive qualitative method to analyze pictures which have signs and meanings of connotation, denotation, and myth in WALL-E animated movie by using Barthes’ theory. The result of the study shows that connotation, denotation, and myth are used to show the signs and meanings of nature and love represented in 14 pictures of WALL-E animated movie. Key Words: Linguistics, Semiotics, Connotation, Denotation, and Myth.
