Abstract

This study is aimed to analyze types of tenses that are usually used in Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen. The objective in this study is to analyze five tenses used in Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen in providing a wonderful story for children so the children can imagine while reading the story. The data collection method used in this study by analyzing five tenses used fairy tales’s book. The result of the study shows the functions of five tenses through each sentence on Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Also the writer gives explanation about five tenses that described of Hans Christian Andersen’s dreams, imagination and hope. Keywords : Tense, Fairy Tales, Hans Christian Andersen
