Abstract

This study is aimed at analyzing Derivational affixes of English morphological process to reveal what Derivational affixes and word class change in derivation which are found in the narration of New Moon novel by Stephenie Meyer. The qualitative method was used to analyze the data of derivational affixes in English morphological process in this study. In analyzing the data, three theories were used to fulfill the process of analysis, they are Plag (2002), O‟grady et al (1987), and Fromkin and Rodman (1983). The result of this study shows there are 30 derivational affixes which are classified into three Derivational affixes; noun, adjective, and adverb. 15 out of 30 data are identified as an adjectival derivational suffixes, while, 9 out of 30 data are marked as nominal derivational suffixes, the next, 6 data are categorized as adverbial derivational suffixes. The most dominant derivation is adjectival derivational suffix. Keywords: Morphology, Derivation, Affix, and suffix.
