Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze teaching listening using song lyrics through Audio Lingual Method. The writer used qualitative approach to get the result of this study where the writer took an observation by teaching listening in seventh grade at SMP Al Amanah. The result of this study is concluded in two comparisons, they are pre-listening in the first meeting and post-listening in the second meeting, then it showed the good influence for the learners. The learners gave the good response by their scores, because of listening to the songs help the learners to memorize, adds more vocabulary and the pronunciation of the words they heard in the songs. As the conclusion, teaching listening using songs lyrics through Audio Lingual Method can develop listening skill for the learners. Keywords : Teaching Listening, Song Lyrics, Audio Lingual Method.
