Abstract

This study has two objectives. The first is to reveal the archetypes of hero in three selected Marvel Studios Films and the second is to reveal the archetype of hero’s journey in three selected Marvel Studios films. The basic analysis employed in this study is Jung’s archetype theory. The objects of this study are three selected Marvel Studios Films entitled “Spider-Man”, “Iron Man”, “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Qualitative approach is used in conducting this study. Therefore, the results are in the form of essay. There are two results of this study. First the writer found four archetype of hero in the object; innocent, special environment of birth, single parented and noble hearted. Second, there are eleven out of twelve archetype of hero’s journey in the objects. Keywords: Films, Jung, Joseph Campbell, archetype, hero, hero’s journey.
