Abstract

The purpose of this study was to discuss teaching reading comprehension using communicative language teaching (CLT) done in sixth grade MI AT-TAQWA SAWANGAN DEPOK. The theory which is used to analyze the study is Grabe (1985)and Littlewood (1994). Besides, this study also aims to describe the activities that happened in MI AT-TAQWA Sawangan Depok and how the teacher applied communicative language teaching in teaching reading comprehension. Subsequently, in this study the writer used qualitative method to analyze the data. From the data analysis it was found that the material are familiar with the students. The activities are communicatively and the result of the test is very good. From the interview, it was also found that they enjoy learning in the class.
