Abstract

This study is aimed to describe shizotypal personality disorder in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. In the movie script, the schizotypal personality disorder is faced by the protagonist. The forms and the causes of disorder are portrayed in this study. The concept psychoanalysis Theodore Millon (1990) is used in analyzing the script. Millon states that personality disorder caused by inner aspect in an individual and her/his society. He argues that schizotypal personality disorder is pervasive pattern of social activity and interpersonal deficits marked by acute discomfort with social relationship, eccentric behavior, and unusual thoughts and perceptions of life reality. People who suffer schizotypal personality disorder is usually has different in self concept of behavior and odd thinking with other people or anything else. The result shows that the protagonist, Willy Wonka has schizotypal personality disorder based on personality pattern which are divided into four aspects: behavioural, phenomenological, intraphysic, and biophysical.
