Abstract

This study aims to deepen the knowledge on literature study, especially young adult literature. This study was conducted to determine illustrative elements and drawing style in Deadpool comic by Joshua Corin and Todd Nauck. The reason why this study was conducted because illustrative element is one of the most important parts in literature books. The writer uses qualitative method to describe the illustrative elements such as: drawing style of the comic and the components of the comic. The theory use in conducting this stud is theory fro Steven Withrow and Lesley Breen Withro t analyze the drawing styl of comi an the theory from Mario Saraceni to analyz the components of comic. After analyze, the drawing style of the comic is really interesting, because the genre is humorou / satirical fiction and fantasy / magica realism. Then, there are some components of comic found such as panel, gutter, balloon, and caption which has some variations. Key words: Literature, Young adult Literature, Comic, Book with Picture, Drawing Style, Illustrative Elements.
