Abstract

The goals of this study is to find out desire and province of mind of the main character in shopaholic to the stars novel. Human beings are driven by their psychological aspect to act and actualize their will. Therefore, a psychoanalysis study is needed to analyze desire of the main character in this novel. This analysis is based on the intrinsic elemens which are character and characterization. Then the analysis continues to psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud to analyze desire from the main character based on province of mind. The writer uses qualitative research method and library research is also applied on finding the theories that supports the research. The analysis is done after collecting the data and quoting the novel. The result is Becky’s desire is seen from responses from her action by using Sigmund Freud psychoanalysis.
