Abstract

This study is aimed at analyzing the materials, the activities, and the result of teaching grammar using communicative language teaching. In conducting the study, the writer uses qualitative approach to analyze the process of teaching grammar future tense at elementary school. The data were collected from observation, interview, questionnaires and document analysis. The writer took the data from the fifth grade students at SDN Pengasinan 02 Depok. The class has thirty eight students. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that teaching grammar using communicative language teaching are interesting and the students enjoy the learning process. Then, based on the students’score, almost of the students have got good score. The average of the score is 86,315. It can be concluded that teaching grammar using communicative language teaching is quite successful. Keywords: Teaching Grammar, CLT Method, Materials, Activities, Result, Qualitative Approach.
