Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the issue of psychopathic personality of the main character in Sophie Kinsella’s Cocktails for Three Novel. This study basically is to answer two basic questions; how psychopathic personality is potrayed in the novel and how antagonist character’s psychopathic personality influences protagonist’s personality. To analyze the data, the writer uses psychoanalysis theory of Sigmund Freud (1920) and theory of psychopathy from Robert D. Hare (1995). This research applied qualitative research method. The method used in collecting the data was library research. The result of this research, the writer reveals some characteristics of psychopatic personality which is potrayed in the novel through antagonist character which influence protagonist character’s personality.
