Abstract

This thesis entitled "Figurative Language Analysis In Some Selected Lyric Of The Beatles Songs" is a study to find and to analyze the figurative language contained in the lyrics of the band The Beatles. This study was intended to analyze the lyrics of a song. The sentence found in this thesis were selected and analysed based on the types of figurative language used in the songs that have been selected. Furthermore in this study there are five songs. Once analyzed. Figurative language found out from 28 sentences. First, the phrase found with the Figurative Language Hyperbole, which comes out of the second sentence with the meanings of Figurative Language Personafication and Metonymy, is ranked third that the sentence with the meaning of Figurative Language Simile and Metaphor and in the last order is a sentence with a figurative sense of irony and paradox. Thus, it turns out many of The Betles songs should be heard because many interesting lyrics that can be enjoyed. Keywords: Figurative Language, Songs and Lyrics.
