Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the hero and journey archetypes. The object of this study is Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes novel written by Jonathan Auxier. The title of this study is “Hero archetype analysis of the main character in Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes Novel”. The theories that are used in this study are from Champbell(1904), and Vogler(1949). Qualitative approach is applied in this study as it focuses on Archetype. The result of this study shows that there are seven archetype characters; hero, mentor, threshold guardian, shapeshifter, shadow, ally. The writer also found eleven out of twelve archetype of hero’s journeyin the objects. Keywords: literature, novel, archetype, Christopher Vogler, Joseph Champbell, hero.
