Abstract

This study is aimed at taking comprehensive understanding regarding the changing behavior of the character in the Wonderful Me novel by Barbara Wersba in 1989. The writer uses qualitative method and descriptive analysis technique to analyze the novel. The writer focuses on analyzing the character of Heidi Rosenbloom and Lionel Moss by using Sigmund Freud’s Psychoanalysis theory. Firstly, the writer analyzes about the characteristics of Heidi Rosenbloom and Lionel Moss and then analyze about the psychological problem from the concept of Structure Personality id, ego, and superego of the character in the novel.As the result of this research is the writer finds that the characters suffer from Oedipus Complex and Pedophilia. Their psyche is disordered because their three parts of structure personality, id, ego and superego does not work properly. Key words: character, Psychoanalysis, psychological problem
