Abstract

This thesis aims at analyzinganxiety disorder found intwo main characters in “All the Bright Places” novel: Theodore Finch and Violet Markey. The analysis focused ontype, cause and effect of anxiety disorder on the two main characters in thenovel. By using qualitative as the approach of this study, the data and the result of the analysis were presented descriptively in essay form. The data were collected by reading, identifying, marking and analyzing the object of this analysis. The theories used to analyze the data weretypes of anxiety disorder theory from Martin M. Antony and Richard P. Swinson (1996), theory about id, ego and superego from Sigmund Freud (2010) and theory about anxiety disorder from Sigmund Freud (1920)to analyze psychological context of two main characters’ anxiety disorder. From the data analysis, it was found that two main characters suffered from anxiety disorder namely generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
