Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the childhood trauma experienced by the main character in the novel Something Wild, The main concern of this study is trauma faced by the main characters and effect of childhood trauma on the personality structure of the protagonists in the novel Something Wild. The object of this study is the novel by Hanna Halperin, Something Wild, with the focus of analysis on the main characters Nessa and Tanya. Data was collected using qualitative methods by reading the novel Something Wild (2021). The psychoanalytic theory, "The Ego and the Id" (1962) by Sigmund Freud, was used as the main approach in the analysis. The results of the study showed that the trauma experienced by the main character, Nessa, was in the form of trauma due to a divorced family, violence by family, and fear of guilty. As a result of this trauma, Nessa grew into an individual who was revengeful, curious, and cowardly. Tanya, who had experienced abuse as a child, made her grow into a brave woman, heroic to others but had a gloomy side.
