Abstract

This study is aimed to describe the process of teaching English present continuous tense to use task based language teaching approach which has 3 phases of the lesson design, and they are pre-test, teaching, and the post-test. The writer used quantitative method by comparing the pre-test and the post-test scores of students in fifth grade TarunaMandiri Elementary School, PONDOK BENDA RAYA, Pamulang- Banten using the right grammar rules. The writer did the observation directly to get accurate of the data and focuses to improve student’s grammar in studying present continuous tense, and the student understanding in doing the tasks. this method can motivate the students to be more active in class activity.
