Abstract
The title of this study is Gender Inequality in Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach by applying Judith Butler's theory (1990) of gender performativity to analyze how gender inequality of men and women in working life is reflected in the novel Little Fires Everywhere and to analyze How does the character deal with gender inequality in the novel Little Fires Everywhere. The novel focuses on the lives of two families, Richardson and Warren, who live in the structured and hierarchical community of Shaker Heights. Through the interactions of the main characters such as Mia, Elena, and Izzy, the novel highlights various aspects of gender inequality in both domestic and social contexts. Data collection and analysis focused on textual evidence from the novel that illustrates themes of gender inequality, resistance, and identity formation. The results show that gender inequality is depicted through Repression of Non- Normative Genders, Cultural and Social and Violence Discrimination. In addition, this study highlights various responses and actions taken by the main character to fight gender inequality, including Policy and Legal Reforms, Education and awareness. Workplace Inclusion, community Support.
