Abstract

This study aims to discussed the illustrative elements from a picture book in titled "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabbin Fever" by Jeff Kinney. The writer uses the theory from Marshall (1982) to explain about children's literature, the history of children’s literature, genres of children’s literature. And Kiefer (2010) mentioned about design in a picture book, using qualitative methods. This study analyzes the design of a picture book consisting of line, shape, color, texture and composition of the picture book interconnected between pictures and text. The texts and picture that each child-related makes it easier to understand the meaning of the story by readers. And children can enjoyed after reading the novel.
