Abstract

The study entitled “Syntactical Sentences and Error Analysis in Chelsea Olivia Wijaya Instagram Account” concerns in the sentence structures that were used in Chelsea Olivia Wijaya Instagram Account. The writer chose Instagram as her source because it is one of the famous social networking sites in the world. To describe the sentence structures that were used in Chelsea Olivia Wijaya, the writer used tree diagram forms. Tree diagram is used to show the smallest unit of the sentences. Besides, the aim of this study is to identify the syntactic errors based on the surface strategy taxonomy by Dulay, Burt and Krashen. The writer used the qualitative approach to answer the research problems in this study. The data was taken from Chelsea Olivia Wijaya Instagram Account. The writer found 40 data from the source and classified the types of the sentences. There are simple, compound and complex sentences. In this study, the writer also found the syntactic errors based on the surface strategy taxonomy by Dulay, Burt and Krashen. The types of the syntactic errors found in Chelsea Olivia Wijaya Instagram Account were misformating, the omission of the grammatical morhphemes, and archi-forms.
