Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine power and its resistance occurs in “The Casual Vacancy” novel. This study used qualitative case study. It applies the subject and power perspective from Michel Foucault. Furthermore, the goal of this study is to find the impact of power form and identify the form of resistance in the society. Meanwhile, the result of this study is that the parent’s power can determine the children attitude in the relation to the society. Then, the resistance is mostly against the power of a leader that led a group of people in a society such as a family, school and institution.
