Abstract

This study aims at identifying and finding an Illocutionary Act and Directive Act which are performed in “ Dawn of the planet of the Apes “ film. In this study entitled “ An analysis of Directive Act in the Dawn of the planet of the apes” film, the writer focus on an Illocutionary and Directive act to get the data interpretation. This study us qualitative approach by employing the theory from Searle ( 1969 ) and Vanderveken (1999 ). The result of the study a shows the most frequently found categories of Illocutionary and Directive act that are assertive, requesting and ordering. Keywords: Pragmatic, Speech Act, Directive Act.
