Abstract

This thesis is aimed at analyzing the process of teaching speaking using storytelling through Communicative Language Teaching method to improve the students’ speaking skill. This thesis is also written to find out how the teaching of speaking using Story-telling technique was conducted in the seventh grade of SMP N 3 Tangerang selatan. In addition, the results of this study described and analyzed based on a qualitative approach through observation, interviews and questionnaires. The results can be concluded that teaching speaking using story telling can motivate students to improve their speaking ability and also help them to express their ideas using English well.
