Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the process of teaching reading using Communicative Learning teaching (CLT) of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri II Pertiwi Bandung .The approach used in this study is qualitative, that is by doing observation and interviewing the teacher. Through descriptive qualitative approach, the data of observation and interview are analyzed in essays. Based on the finding of the study, it can be concluded that teaching reading using Communicative Learning teaching (CLT) can improve the students English reading skill in English class, because the teacher gave appreciation and build the students confidence to be active in the class.
