Abstract

This study is entitled “An Analysis of Animal Character in the Mona Mousa Code Novel by Elisabetta Dami based on Reader Response Theory”. The aim of this study was to discuss about the social context that depicted in the Geronimo stilton the mona mousa code novel by Elisabetta Dami novel and the biography of Elisabetta Dami and the characterization if the Geronimo stilton, trap stilton, Thea Stilton, Benjamin stilton and Elisabetta. The data were taken for Elisabetta Dami biography and the novel. The method used in this study is qualitative method, while reader respond theory reader respond theory was applied in this study. The writer divided the analysis into two parts, the first is about social context and the second is characterization of the character between characteristic and the author biography. The data are taken from dialogues in the novel and biography of the author. Based on the analysis, the social life of Elisabetta Dami contributes to the idea of creating the animal character. The writer finds out the social context in the novel and author biography are togetherness and emancipation. Elisabetta Dami loves there are many reasons why the author wrote about children literature. Keywords: Literature, children novel, characterization, reader respond
