Abstract

This study aims to find the improvements in the students’ reading comprehension using picture series at Fifth Grade of SDN 1 Sajira Rangkasbitung. This study is entitled “The Implementation of Picture Series to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension at the Fifth Grade of SDN 1 Sajira Rangkasbitung (Classroom Action Research: CAR)”. This study used a qualitative with class action research. This study used Brown (2007) theory. The result shows picture series can improve the students’ reading skill. It can be seen from the mean score of pre-test was 57,85 and after using the picture series, the mean score of post-test I was 68,17 and the mean score of post-test II was 84,49. Picture series has improved students’ reading comprehension because all students or 100% achieved minimum completeness criteria score. Keyword: picture series, reading comprehension, brown theory.
