Abstract

This study is aimed at analyzing about teaching vocabulary using pictures through whole language approach at SDIT BINA CENDEKIA Bojongsari-Depok. This study is also to investigate the materials, to describe the activities, and to analyze the results of teaching vocabulary using pictures through whole language approach. In this study, the method used is qualitative, through doing observation, interviewing the teacher, and giving questionnaires for to the students to get information about what kinds of materials and activities. The result of this study are: the students are fun, active, and not bored, because the method using pictures. The students have to see the pictures and describe the objects they use using their own words, then the teacher read the students’ writing, and the teacher corrected the errors made in the students writing. Through activities, students can improve their knowledge in vocabulary, they also learned from their mistakes, and they can read the results of the writing. Besides, the score described that the students have excellent scores.
