Abstract

Euphemism is another way to say taboo words become more polite. And this study is aimed to analyze the kinds of euphemism words analysis found in the Remember Me film, and what semantic changes of the euphemism are found in the dialogues, for example metaphor, rhyming slang, remodeling, hyperbole, and clipping. An approach that is used in this study is qualitative using Allan (1991) and Burridge (1991) theories. Based on this analysis, there are many kinds of euphemism found, such as metaphor, remodeling, circumlocution, and clipping. This study may give benefit to English Department students as a reference to conduct the some study.
