Abstract

This study entitled “The Ambivalent Identity depicted in Red, White, And Whole Novel by Rajani Larocca: A Post-Colonial Study” aims to describe ambivalence that appears in the novel entitled Red, White, And Whole by Rajani Larocca (2021) in the context of post-colonialism. The main source of this work is the imprint novel entitled Red, White, And Whole by Rajani Larocca (2021). In this novel, the writer’s found the ambivalent identity experienced by the main character and the characters around her. Ambivalence is two things that contradict each other in this context called culture in between which happen in someone who is facing two different culture. The theory relevant to the issue is by Homi K. Bhabha (1994) who discusses ambivalence. This study uses a qualitative approach to find the data. In this study, the writer found the results of several identifications of ambivalence in the Red, White, And Whole novel, especially in the aspect of identity influences subject formation, language, and the inner struggles of the characters.
