Abstract
The study entitled "Gender Inequalities Issue In Hidden Figures Novel By Margot Lee Shetterly" aimed to increase public awareness about issues regarding gender inequality that often occur in public spaces. The discussion focused on the inequality of opportunity for women compared to men in various aspects, from work to social issues. The object that has been used in this research is a novel entitled Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Sheterlly, published in 2016. This non-fiction novel tells about the twists and turns of the three main female characters in achieving gender equality in the field of work, namely becoming a mathematician for NASA. . However, of course with their gender as women, the struggle is not easy. The three main characters are told that they often get gender and racial discrimination. This study used a qualitative method, by applying Maslow's theory associated with the manifestation of Mansour Fakih about the five concepts of gender; gender and marginalization; subordination; stereotypes, burdens, and violence. In which the result is the concept of Gender and Subordination which dominates the main character.
