Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyse the types of grammatical equivalence in Malorie’s Utterances in Bird Box’s Indonesian subtitle and to explain how grammatical equivalence related in Bird Box movie Indonesian subtitle. The object of this study is movie entitled Bird Box by Malerman (2018). This study applies qualitative research method as the analysis presented in the form of essay. Then, the writer uses Baker (2018) theory to guide this study in grammatical equivalence. The analysis results are five varities of grammatical equivalence. The dominant data is from Person which is 114 data, 48 data of Tense/Aspect and Number, 23 data of Gender and 18 data of Voice. Then, each types of Grammatical Equivalence is equivalent in Bird Box’s Indonesia subtitle.
