Abstract
This research is entitled "An Analysis of Semiotics in Selected Tourism Brochures". The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning contained in the tourist brochures used to determine the significance of semiotics such as denotation, connotation, and myth. This study used a qualitative method. The data of the study were pictures of travel brochures that have been found in google links and social media such as instagram, facebook, and official websites. The writer used five travel brochures such as Kepulauan Seribu, Blue Lagoon Bahamas, Cappadocia Turkey, Thailand, and Vietnam brochure. The data were analyzed by using Barthes's (1968) theory which focuses on the kinds of significance. There are denotation, connotation, and myth. The result in this research explain that by utilizing the semiotic analysis method, tourism brochure that look confusing can be easily understood with theory Roland Barthes. Semiotics present a sequence of processes as to deliver a work of art and design as steps that can be explained in a structure manner.
