Abstract
This study aims to analyse the issue of delusional disorder in the novel titled Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes, focusing on the representation of delusional disorder experienced by the main character named Clayton Broom and how he copes with the delusional disorder. To analyse the issue critically, a descriptive qualitative approach is applied by implementing theory on delusional disorder by Karl Jaspers. The analysis of the novel indicates that Clayton Broom has unhealed childhood trauma and depression. Consequently, he becomes a serial killer caused by his inability to distinguish reality from imagination. The result of this research shows that delusional disorder leads to danger and death for the sufferer and surroundings.
