Abstract
This research is aimed at analyzing the hybridity and mimicry portrayed in Foreign Gods, Inc. novel by Okey Ndibe. This research used Postcolonial approach by Homi K. Bhabha with the specific term’s hybridity and mimicry. The study was conducted to show the hybridity and mimicry of African people as portrayed in the novel Foreign Gods, Inc. and using the qualitative descriptive method. The data collected in form of sentences, conversations, and narrative explanations that related to the theory are analyzed by Homi K. Bhabha's theory of postcolonialism: hybridity and mimicry as the main focus. Based on the analysis, it was found that the term Hybridity and Mimicry is used in the novel Foreign Gods, Inc. as camouflage in daily life. For instance, the writer found Hybridity as a trick to realize that a mixed culture always happens because it has been influenced by other culture, however, the term hybridity itself does not make him switch the culture before into new culture but make him an alternative way to avoid as Bhabha called "Third space". In Mimicry, the writer found how the characters in the novel were trying to mimic the culture, language, style, and food.
