Abstract
This study aims to describe or explain the lingual form of code switching and code mixing in imperfect films and to describe the context contained in imperfect films by using Hymes' theory of speaking (in Abdul Chaer, 2019, p. 48). Each word has its own meaning, namely: Setting and scene (S) Place and time, Participant (P) Speaker and speech partner (parties involved), End (E) Purpose of the conversation, Act (A) Speech event (relationship between word use and topic of conversation), Key (K) Variety of language or speech method, Instrument (I) Tool used to communicate, Norm (N) Rules that must be obeyed when speaking or interacting, Genre (G) Type of delivery form, such as narrative , poetry, proverbs, prayers and others. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method that combines data collection techniques and key instruments. The data contained in this study are in the form of code-switching transcripts and code-mixing in a film entitled imperfect. The data collection technique in this study used the listening and note-taking technique. In conclusion, in this study, researchers found 18 data on lingual forms and contexts contained in imperfect films.
