Abstract

This study is entitled “An Analysis of Swear Words Used in Eminem’s Selected Song Lyrics”. The aim of this study is to analyze the use and what types of swear words Eminem used in his five selected song lyrics. Michael Swan theory about swear words is used to identify and analyze the data. Swan has categorized which type are used Strong Swear Words or Weak Swear Words. In analyzing the data findings, the writer used Qualitative approach. This study found that strong swear words is used a lot more in the selected song lyrics rather than the weak swear words type.
