Abstract

This study is conducted to analyze the woman subordination which happens to the married woman in the novel “The Wife between Us". This study uses a qualitative approach. The method that the writer uses to analyze this object is descriptive qualitative. By using the theory of The Second Sex by Simone De Beauvoir (1949), this study concerned how woman are subordinated in the marriage system. It also emphasized which kind of subordination that experienced by the married woman under her husband. From the analysis of the study it was found that woman is subordinated in physical and mental during the marriage. The subordination which happens in this study does not able to resist by woman’s power. The woman able to escape from inferior’s role after she pretend that a husband did a mistake from a marriage.
